John Bitcock, a robot who dreams of becoming a professional dancer, lives in his worst nightmare, an alternate version of America where it's illegal for robots to dance. Determined to make his dream a reality, John sets out on a daring mission to rewrite history. Help John infiltrate the White House, solve physics-based puzzles using his precision cutting laser, and rewrite the Declaration of Independence so robots can dance.

Engine

Independence Day runs on Basilisk Engine, a game engine built in Python for Python. While we made Basilisk Engine, our game's code is 100% disconnected from the engine itself. If we were to completely delete it, the engine would still be completely functional.

Basilisk Engine is primarily coded in Python and uses some GLSL to handle our graphics. It utilizes the GPU and a single thread on the CPU to run games.  We're always working on improving it so keep a look out for future updates.
